Myanmar holds a very special place in my heart as I went there on zoological expeditions in 2001 & 2003 and spent 7 weeks with some amazing staff and students from the University of Yangon – who were so keen to share their knowledge and breathtakingly beautiful country with the wider world. I know so many of us thought things would/could be different after 2009/10, but you’re right – the conditions for change need to support the desire, and that may take more time and awareness. But again like you, I have faith that the resilient Myanmar people will continue striving to make that happen. And you, your colleagues and family have helped them at least get a step closer… Take care and take heart. x

Thank you! If I must fail, at least it is for a noble cause. But I do hope others will succeed in fixing the broken education system in Myanmar one day and that its leaders will both initiate and support such help.

How can they survive without the education of their future leaders. Sounds like many will leave the Country to live someplace else. At least you did your best to make education better.
