How Did I Fit All 8 Billion People in One Drawing?

Hi! It’s been busy over in the studio.

I wanted to share with you a new mixed-media drawing I recently finished.

Unity: Earth Dance Meditation is a quilt-inspired image that celebrates any positive steps toward respect for all cultures/ world peace, no matter how small.

The structure is an ancient symbol of unity, the flower of life from sacred geometry. The petals are textile patterns from all corners of the world and in the gaps is a full spectrum of human skin tones.

This unity Earth drawing has lots of tiny, intricate details (and took me almost a month to complete!) so if you’d like to zoom in and see them, have a look on my site here.
