Hi! I hope you are doing well in your part of the world.
Over the weekend I was traveling along Lake Malawi with my husband and sons and landed in Mangochi.
I saw lots of amazing small animals (monkeys, squirrels, etc.), lizards, birds, and colorful bugs to keep me fascinated and inspired for days.
What do you think? Is this chameleon smiling at me or making a Haka war face? Maybe it thought I was scary?
I couldn’t help but start drawing him/her, complete with chitenge bottle caps in the background. I sent my mom in Massachusetts a photo of this work in progress and she HATES it. She finds lizards to be incredibly disgusting. I guess I know what image not to gift her in future! LOL.
Meanwhile, when I got back to Lilongwe, I was able to continue my other work in progress. This is a mash up of two things I love in Malawi: chitenge-wrapped bottlecaps and carved wooden fish by the lake. The bottle caps on this first attempt feel a bit looser and less perfect than in the lizard drawing. I’m not a quitter though, so I’ll keep going with this one until I’m satisfied (or close to it.)
Ah… humble beginnings.

Now Some Food For Thought. Can NFTs be Eco-Friendly?
Good question! I sure do hope so.
Here’s my new NFT dropped on the polygon network. Polygon is more efficient and eco-friendly compared to the Etherium blockchain. This is the animated version of my original drawing, Comfort Frequencies. Go have a look at my collection of NFTs!
Thanks for reading! Stay well. BE well…
